If you use a firearm in self-defense, you will be in the legal system and the results, even if you are 100% innocent, can be both emotionally and financially devastating.
Whistling Pines Gun Club and US Law Shield are hosting a seminar taught by:
An experienced Defense Attorney who specializes in Second Amendment cases, both Civil and Criminal
An experienced Law Enforcement officer who is an avid supporter of the Second Amendment
US Law Shield was formed five years ago specifically to provide legal defense to law abiding citizens who have used a firearm to defend themselves or their loved ones. This program has provided legal representation to hundreds of members since its inception, and is a staunch supporter of Second Amendment rights.
This seminar covers:
The legal definition and case law pertaining to the use of deadly force
Colorado’s gun laws and legislation
How to respond to the police, both after a self-defense event and / or traffic stops.
How to best protect yourself from a legal system that is stacked against you.
The 21st Century Handgun method is the result of three realizations. The first is that few activities are more physically “democratic” than shooting – nearly anyone can learn to shoot well if properly instructed. Second, that traditional instruction which tends to proceed outward from a set of assumptions about firearm type(s), physique and previous training often falls badly short when those assumptions aren’t applicable.
The third realization is the consequence of the second: The most broadly useful technique will instead work inward to account for the unavoidable differences in shooters. The result is a small, versatile core of techniques that constitutes 21st Century Handgun.
On the other hand, 21st CHG in no way asserts that what a student may already know is “wrong.” Elements of the curriculum will seem familiar to nearly any level of student, whether you’re a classic Jeff Cooper disciple, FrontSighter, NRA stalwart or beyond. What will be different is terminology, and the re-organization of what you already know with what you’ll learn. For instance:
A simple, precise way to remember what goes into a “good” shot that also doubles as a paradigm to debug issues on your own and in real time.
A detailed and reviewable breakdown of your current technique as a baseline for improvements to implement as you progress with 21st Century methods (yours to keep).
“Limp-wristing” – a well-meant but largely useless term that has almost nothing to do with what is actually making your firearm malfunction. The only thing worse is the traditional method for fixing it. And we’ll prove it.
Weaver vs. Isosceles vs. Modified Weaver vs. Whatever stance – Often badly misunderstood and inarticulately taught, stance should be subordinated to other considerations rather than be the bedrock of your technique. What you as an individual should adopt is based on the dimensions and strengths/weaknesses of your physique. You’ll learn how to balance the trade-offs or even turn them in your favor.
Getting the grip and eyes to work together to aim your pistol faster and with more precision than you likely thought possible. No well-intended, but different-for-everybody gobbledygook about “natural point of aim” either.
How to put affordable technology and simple drills to work to become an obviously better shooter in the span of the class.
A method with virtually no technique trade-offs as firearm size, caliber or action type changes.
Shoot like those enviable youngsters at virtually any time in life by protecting what grows delicate as we age.
Simply enjoy your shooting more.
Continued access to 21st Century Handgun “Seminar” Training sessions, including updated personal technique reviews. Seminars will generally deal with two or three very specific skills which are practiced repeatedly and under close observation and instructional commentary.
Six hours of instruction (eight for “Silver Shooters (50+)” version; age restriction not enforced), ~40% on the range (350-500 rounds). Modern handgun, revolver or rimfire OK, and two reloading devices, holster recommended but not required.
Seminars are limited to past Silver Shooter or 21st Century Handgun graduates; $30/session (2.5-3.0 hours)
